Discover the Magic of Bodnant Gardens
We’re always on the lookout for new and exciting destinations for our trips away. Usually these come in the form of a quick Instagram search however this one came personally recommended from my Grandparents so it felt extra special.
Bodnant Gardens in North Wales absolutely stole our hearts, whether you’re a nature lover, a photography buff, or just in need of a peaceful escape, Bodnant Gardens has something special for everyone. Plus, it’s one of the National Trust locations, which is a bonus if you have a membership like us (we got ours last year and it’s been a fantastic investment!).
Firstly on entering the grounds we were so overwhelmed with how much colour there was everywhere. We overheard a couple discussing that the terraces were amazing this time of year and so dutifully we headed to visit this first as it came on good recommendation from the locals.
The Rose Terraces : This area of the ground does not disappoint. The five Italianate terraces are perfect for a laid-back wander. Each one boasts its own unique views and impeccably kept flower beds. We were especially smitten with the Rose Terrace, where the sweet-smelling blooms create a seriously romantic vibe.
The Dell: Near the enchanting Waterfall Bridge, the stepping stone paths add a playful charm to the experience. These winding stones guide you through lush, verdant areas and offer a whimsical way to explore the garden. As you hop from stone to stone, you’ll discover delightful views and cozy spots tucked away amidst the greenery. It’s a fun and immersive way to enjoy the natural beauty of the Dell.
The Poem: Right in front of the house, you’ll find the gorgeous pond in The Poem area. This picturesque pond, with its tranquil waters and stunning reflections, is the perfect spot for a moment of relaxation. The view of the house from here is simply breath-taking,
One of the things I found lovely about our visit was how Bodnant Gardens had made good effort to be accessible for visitors of all ages and abilities. The garden thoughtfully includes designated areas for wheelchairs and families with young children, ensuring everyone can enjoy its beauty. Clear signage guides you to areas with steps or ramps, making navigation easy.
